Beagle Booth is a photo booth app that runs locally on your iPad. We designed it to collect only what’s needed to deliver photos/GIFs to guests and to give you full control over your event’s data.

What we collect

Beagle Booth stores data locally on the device for your event. Based on your usage, the app may store:

  • Guest info: name, phone number, email, city, timestamp, chosen delivery method (SMS or Email).
  • Captured media: photos (JPEG) and GIFs, plus thumbnails for previews.
  • Event settings: DJ/business name, logo, social handles, optional tip handles (Venmo/Cash App/PayPal), city/state, and (optionally) approximate location.
  • Start screen media (optional): your custom background image or looping video.

Technical basis: see Models/Attendee.swift, Models/Event.swift, and media stored per‑event under the app’s Documents directory.

Where it’s stored

  • On‑device only: Event configuration and attendee records are saved to the device (UserDefaults backups), and media files are stored under the app’s sandbox in Documents/Events/<EventID>.
  • No automatic uploads: Beagle Booth does not send data to external servers or third‑party analytics.

Technical basis: StorageService writes to the app sandbox; there is no network transmission for storage.

How data is shared

  • SMS / Email: When you choose to send a photo or GIF, the app presents the system Messages or Mail composer on the device. Your message body can include your socials and optional tip link. You control whether to send.
  • Export: From the admin menu, you can export a CSV of attendees and a ZIP of media using the iOS share sheet.

Technical basis: system composers via MessageUI; exports via ExportService.

Permissions we use

  • Camera: Required to capture photos and GIF frames.
  • Biometrics/Passcode: Used to protect the admin menu.
  • Location (optional): If enabled, the app may store approximate city/state with your event.

Your choices & retention

  • Review and export: You can preview media, export CSV/ZIP, and share via the system share sheet anytime.
  • Delete: Use “Clear All Data” in the admin tools to remove the current event and attendees from the device. Deleting the app also removes locally stored data.
  • Connectivity: The app works offline for capture and exports. Sending via SMS/Email requires device setup and connectivity.

Children’s privacy

Beagle Booth is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you capture minors, you are responsible for obtaining all required consents.

Security

Data is stored within the iOS app sandbox and benefits from iOS data protection. The admin area can be gated by biometrics/passcode. No system is perfectly secure; handle exports and shared files carefully.

Your rights

Because Beagle Booth stores event data locally on your device and does not process it on external servers, requests to access, correct, or delete data are fulfilled by you (the event operator) using the in‑app tools.
